SANTA MONICA, Calif.— Nov. 5, 2015 — With 171 Venture capital deals in 2014 totaling more than $2 billion according to the National Venture Capital Association, Los Angeles is becoming one of the fastest growing technology ecosystems in the country. To recognize the region’s rising tech scene and showcase the innovative minds at work in the city, Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ: CSOD) will host the third annual LA Tech Summit. The event, which is being held Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif., will bring together the area’s most successful entrepreneurs and investors to discuss the latest industry trends and the continued momentum in LA’s tech ecosystem over the past year.

With 70 speakers such as Los Angeles Dodgers’ CFO Tucker Kain, ZestFinance president Mike Armstrong, and Pritzker Group managing partners Tony and J.B. Pritzker, the agenda features top leaders and investors sharing insights and trends about e-commerce, on-demand services, financial technology, gaming, digital media, enterprise software, sports, entertainment and more.

Features of this year’s LA Tech Summit agenda include:

  • Shark Tank Competition. Moderated by tech entrepreneur Jason Nazar, up-and-coming startups will go head-to-head in a pitch competition for a chance to help make their dream a reality. The winning pitch team will receive $5,000 and expert counsel from a judging panel of tech influencers such as Plus Capital venture partner Baron Davis and Workpop co-CEO Chris Ovitz. The competing startups include FAMA, a cloud-based platform that offers employers actionable insight into a candidate’s digital footprint; FEM Inc., a media technology company that delivers engaging video experiences for any website or app; MakieLab, an entertainment play space for young people that allows users to download and print 3D dolls and accessories; and Sensay, which offers on-demand help from humans for anything users need to know now.


  • After-Party at The Bungalow. Toast to the future of technology in Los Angeles with an evening celebration featuring DJ Hope.
