increase employee engagement through workplace volunteer activities

SANTA MONICA, Calif. March 20, 2012 Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ:CSOD), a global leader in cloud-based talent management solutions, today announced the launch of Cornerstone Volunteer Management, a new solution for managing corporate and non-profit volunteer programs and matching volunteers with relevant opportunities. Cornerstone is the first vendor in its category to offer a volunteer management solution as part of its integrated learning, performance and talent management software suite.

With Cornerstone’s Volunteer Management solution, users can track each volunteer’s pertinent skill sets, align capabilities and experience to the particular needs of a volunteer opportunity, and assign volunteers to relevant positions, based on compatibility, timing and desire. Other benefits of the solution include the ability to publish and promote available volunteer opportunities, as well as schedule alerts and notifications for specific events. Dashboard and reporting tools provide visual summaries for tracking, evaluating and reporting on volunteer participation.

“Volunteerism is on the rise, and with that comes increased complexity in managing volunteers and matching skills with need. Cornerstone has brought its expertise in managing talent to meet the rising challenges of managing volunteer efforts,” said Lisa Rowan, director of HR, talent, and learning research at International Data Corporation, a leading market intelligence and advisory firm. “This further demonstrates Cornerstone’s commitment to social responsibility and support for non-profits.”

The 2011 Deloitte Volunteer IMPACT Survey suggests that employers who connect the dots between talent and volunteerism have the opportunity to strengthen employee engagement. According to the study, Millennials who frequently participate in workplace volunteer activities are more likely to be very proud to work for their company, feel very loyal toward their company and be very satisfied with the progression of their career.

“Corporate social responsibility and community involvement are increasingly important to companies and their employees,” noted Adam Miller, president and CEO of Cornerstone OnDemand. “Our work with the non-profit community, combined with our on-going dialogue with the CSR leaders of our enterprise clients, enabled us to recognize the unmet need for both non-profits and corporations to effectively manage volunteer programs. Our volunteer management solution will allow for skills-based volunteer matching, more effectively empowering volunteers and non-profit organizations alike.”

Empowering people and communities through volunteerism is a top priority for Cornerstone and the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, which helps to provide non-profits with talent management software and services for managing their people and increasing their impact in the communities they serve.

“Given our extensive work with many leading non-profits, we recognize the positive impact volunteers can have on those in need,” said Julie Brandt, executive director of the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation. “We believe Cornerstone’s Volunteer Management solution will enhance the effectiveness of these volunteers in making a difference in communities around the world each and every day.
