How to Enable Cookies

Cookies help sites remember information about your visit, like your preferred language and other settings. With this information, sites can make your next visit easier and the site more useful to you. Cookies need to be enabled on your browser before you can use the Cornerstone application.

How to enable cookies will depend on what browser you are using.

  • Internet Exploer 8
  • Internet Explorer 9
  • Internet Explorer 10
  • Internet Explorer 11
  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox

Internet Explorer 8

  1. Click the Tools button
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. Click the Privacy tab
  4. Under Settings, move the slider to the bottom to allow all cookies
  5. Click OK

Internet Explorer 9

  1. Click the Tools button
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. Click the Privacy tab
  4. Click on the Advanced button
  5. Under Advanced Privacy settings, check the box under Override automatic cooking handling and then make sure Accept is selected for both First-party cookies and Third-party cookies.
  6. Click OK to apply the changes

Internet Explorer 10

  1. Open IE 10 and click the gear icon
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. Click the Privacy tab
  4. Click on the Advanced button
  5. Under Advanced Privacy settings, check the box under Override automatic cooking handling and then make sure Accept is selected for both First-party cookies and Third-party cookies
  6. Click OK

Internet Explorer 11

  1. Open IE 11 and click the gear icon
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. Click the Privacy tab
  4. Click on the Advanced button
  5. Under Advanced Privacy settings, check the box under Override automatic cooking handling and then make sure Accept is selected for both First-party cookies and Third-party cookies
  6. Click OK

Google Chrome

  1. Click the Chrome menu icon in the upper right corner
  2. Select Settings
  3. Near the bottom of the page, click Show advanced setting
  4. In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings
  5. Enable or disable cookies:
    • To enable cookies, select Allow local data to be set (recommended)
  6. Click Done to save

Mozilla Firefox

To check or change your settings:

  1. Click the menu icon, in the upper right corner, and choose Options
  2. Select the Privacy panel
  3. Set Firefox will: to Use custom setting for history
  4. Check mark Accept cookies from sites to enable Cookies, and uncheck it to disable them
  5. Choose how long cookies are allowed to be stored:
    • Keep until: they expire: Each cookie will be removed when it reaches its expiration date, which is set by the site that sent the cookie
    • Keep until: I close Firefox: The cookies that are stored on your computer will be removed when Firefox is closed
    • Keep until: ask me every time: Displays an alert every time a website tries to send a cookie, and asks you whether or not you want to store it
  6. Click OK to close the Options window
