SUEZ looks to Cornerstone Human Capital Management for successful digital transformation

Paris - 28 Sept. 2017 - Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ: CSOD), a global leader in cloud-based learning and human capital management software, has announced that SUEZ, a key player in the circular economy for sustainable resource management, is now using Cornerstone’s Human Capital Management (HCM) platform to promote the digitisation of its HR processes, the standardisation of its tools and the engagement of its employees across the globe.
SUEZ provides 58 million people with sanitation services, every year re-using 882 million m3 of waste water, recycling 16.9 million tons of waste, and producing 7 TWh of local, renewable energy. With 83,921 employees across five continents, SUEZ is continually developing and growing. Processes and human resource needs management vary tremendously across departments and countries.

SUEZ started with a pilot phase across 19,000 employees, covering core HR (HR data management) as well as performance and development management. This pilot phase was rolled out for a three month period. The results have been impressive in terms of performance review completion rate and the consistency and quality of project management, leading SUEZ to extend the programme across the whole group. Given the success of the project, SUEZ decided to use the full Cornerstone HCM platform:

Cornerstone Recruiting Suite for managing external applications and internal mobility, Cornerstone HR Suite to manage HR data and provide global visibility of the entire workforce, Cornerstone Performance Suite, to manage objectives, appraisals, succession planning and bonus allocation scorecards, and Cornerstone Learning Suite to manage training and enable managers and employees to participate in skills development.

Cornerstone’s HCM platform will help SUEZ meet its strategic goals, including:

  • Accelerating the integration of business units under the SUEZ brand

  • Fostering better employer branding and internal mobility

  • Optimising talent retention

  • Providing a reliable HR repository to improve reporting accuracy

  • Integrating data from different sources

  • Managing the group’s policy as well as local specificities

Cornerstone’s unified approach enables the gradual deployment of an integrated HCM platform and reliable, consolidated reporting across all parts of the Group. Moreover, it’s important to SUEZ to integrate with local systems, no matter the data source, in order to meet the needs of each subsidiary. The user experience had to be flexible and integrate training management to support change. The Cornerstone team, which provides end-to-end technical support, was also a decisive factor for SUEZ.

Comments on the News
"After the pilot, we knew that Cornerstone was the right platform to digitise and centralise our HR processes while supporting SUEZ’s strategic objectives. Our development as a company relies on the skills of our employees as well as their development, so we needed a platform that enables the transformation of our processes throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment to succession plans. We are happy with Cornerstone's support and the flexibility of the platform" said Frédéric Henrion, Group HR Development Director and sponsor of the project.

"SUEZ has a clear strategy behind developing its employer brand, the skills of its employees and the organisation as a whole by undergoing a full digital transformation," explains Vincent Belliveau, Executive Vice President and General Manager of EMEA at Cornerstone OnDemand. "We are very proud to partner with SUEZ for its digital transformation in France and around the world, and to put forward a platform that, on the one hand, supports the company’s strategy and HR challenges, and on the other, allows employees to fully realise their potential."
