Cornerstone OnDemand Expands Presence in Public Sector to Drive Continued Momentum

Cornerstone helps address critical talent management challenges within government and education organizations and agencies

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 28, 2013Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ:CSOD), a global leader in cloud-based talent management software solutions, cites growth in the public sector market and sees opportunity to capture more market share as a result of the public sector’s rapidly growing need for efficient and effective talent management strategies and increased adoption of cloud technologies.

While all organizations are facing challenges associated with the skills gap and loss of senior leadership due to retirement, the public sector has a particularly critical need for an aligned strategy that strengthens workforce retention, recruitment and readiness, and incorporates the necessary workforce planning approaches to maintain continuity of their talent.1

Cornerstone serves organizations of the public sector, including agencies and contractors of the federal government, state and local government, K-12 education and higher education. Organizations using Cornerstone’s integrated talent management solution, including platforms for recruiting, learning and development, performance management and succession planning, include the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), Emory University, San Francisco Unified School District, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Department of the Treasury, among others.

“We have seen tremendous momentum as more and more public sector entities use our talent management solutions to address distinct challenges relating to recruiting, learning and development, compliance training, performance management, and succession planning,” said Patrick Devlin, Vice President of Public Sector for Cornerstone OnDemand. “Government and education organizations are choosing Cornerstone because our suite has been cloud-based since inception, and all the various modules we provide work together seamlessly without the need for complex and expensive integrations.”

Driven by government-led initiatives such as “Cloud First” and FedRAMP, the public sector is moving to adopt SaaS technologies to simplify and streamline processes and create cost reductions. In turn, the Cornerstone integrated suite not only helps public sector clients realize time and money savings in the cloud; it also enables these organizations to scale and become more agile by providing a way to identify talent needs, and to develop and engage their new and existing workforce for the long-term.

The flexibility and scalability of the cloud model appealed to the State of Nebraska’s state personnel team, who decided to invest in Cornerstone’s integrated talent management suite in 2010, including solutions for learning and development, performance management and succession planning.

“Using the Cornerstone system, we’ve been able to standardize HR processes across the state and gain a more holistic view of our talent management initiatives across all employees and divisions so that we can make more meaningful decisions about our workforce,” said Dovi Mueller, HR administrator for the State of Nebraska. “Our employees now have convenient access to the training they need to better perform in their roles or advance their careers with the state. And we expect to see increased connectivity between agencies because the system’s social tools allow them to collaborate and share information in a way they had never been able to do before.”
