Federal Government, Department of Defense, Sales Executive

In January, 2008, Cornerstone launched a Public Sector line of business that includes federal government, state and local government, higher education and K-12 organizations. Since that time, Cornerstone has experienced significant business growth in all areas, but in particular, the federal government. Most of our growth in the federal government is on the civilian side; consequently, the Public Sector team is ready to build out its Department of Defense sales territory. We are seeking Department of Defense Sales Executives in the DC area to focus on building the pipeline and revenue specific to the aforementioned region.

We are seeking successful software sales executives to sell our state-of-the-art Talent Management Software Suite to the Department of Defense market. Ideal candidates will have a proven ability to successfully establish and sell enterprise software solutions to senior-level executives and practitioners of Department of Defense agencies

You will work remotely and sell into a regional marketplace. Your initial training will take place in Santa Monica, CA. Compensation is competitive and commission is generous.

Responsibilities

Instruct and facilitate webcast and in-person training sessions on web based talent management system for our clients with specific abilities to:

  • Secure new business leads by cold calling
  • Manage your assigned marketplace
  • Build consensus
  • Develop, negotiate and close long-term agreement with accounts in your assigned marketplace
  • Meet sales quota
  • Conduct virtual and live presentations around our solutions
  • Coordinate with Marketing to create marketing strategy and materials specific to the Department of Defense market

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years enterprise software sales experience, successfully selling high level complex software/technology solutions to the Department of Defense.
  • Experience selling HR-related software
  • Track record of exceeding company sales quotas
  • Aggressive, hard-working, persuasive, persistent, self-motivated, and productive
  • Multitasking and strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and analytical skills
  • Must be comfortable demonstrating software and speaking to technical and non-technical executives alike
  • Experience with CRM tools like SalesForce.com and Microsoft Office
