The global nature of Trivium presented a major challenge – there was no standardised approach to learning or any associated reporting. Each plant managed employee learning differently, with some conducting in-person training only and others using PowerPoint as their only form of ‘e-learning’. Additionally, since most of Trivium’s employees work in factories, they must complete mandatory safety training, quality, code of conduct and more. However, access to computers was limited, mainly to plant managers, making this a challenging task.
Documentation around learning consumption and training completion was also done manually across a mixture of Excel sheets and physical paperwork. This made visibility from the top down nearly impossible, and made it extremely difficult to report on global training and activities numbers for auditing and compliance.
Trivium’s aim was to standardise and streamline its training, tracking, and reporting to cover its global remit and optimise costs – which meant offering training and reporting on a single platform, and in multiple languages. With these needs and goals in mind, Trivium decided to partner with Cornerstone to implement its LMS, Trivium University, and improve its reporting.
