The world has been watching the heartbreaking events unfold in Ukraine.
Since the Russian invasion began, the United Nations Refugee Agency has reported nearly 3.5 million people have fled Ukraine as refugees.
World events like this continue to amplify anxiety and stress for many. Cornerstone is committed to supporting those who are directly impacted by this crisis and the people everywhere who are coping with personal stress and anxiety.
We are here for Ukraine. We are here for you. Cornerstone Cares.
How you can help
Many charities are doing good work in the region and helping those displaced. It can be difficult to know which you should support, so we've compiled a list of vetted charities.
- UNICEF supports health, nutrition, HIV prevention, education, safe drinking water, sanitation and protection for children and families caught in the conflict in Ukraine.
- Sunflower of Peace is raising money to prepare first aid medical tactical backpacks for paramedics and doctors on the front lines.
- The International Committee of the Red Cross aims to help people affected by the conflict and support the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
- Other organizations to consider supporting include Doctors Without Borders, Voices of Children and Save the Children. Here's a link to an NPR article that lists a few others.
Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation in Ukraine
Just like you, our team is looking for ways to help. The Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation is working closely with our non-profit partners in the region, including International Medical Corps and Mercy Corps, to assist.
We've also been teaming up with our localization partners to translate key training content into Ukrainian and other local languages to support refugee resettlement efforts.
Cornerstone Cares about you
We recognize that you, your loved ones and team members may be trying to manage personal stress and anxiety during turbulence and insecurity. To help, we've added a self-care playlist to our Cornerstone Cares portal and are making this training content immediately available to anyone who registers, free of charge.
The playlist, "Self-care and managing stress in insecure environments,” addresses how living and working in an environment of ongoing insecurity is particularly stressful for employees and their families. It acknowledges that significant and unpredictable changes in our environments affect our body, emotions, mind, behavior, relationships and spirit. This playlist will help you manage your response to uncertainty, stress and changes in your life.
Together we can make a difference
There are numerous opportunities to support those who have been most affected by the conflict in Ukraine, and we hope we've" been able to shine some light on how you can get involved.
There is no mistaking the gravity of the situation. At times like this, it's good for you and your mental well-being to channel your energy into positive change. This can be easier said than done, so we felt so strongly about offering self-care resources.
We hope you feel empowered to share them with others who would benefit. If we put our hearts and minds together, we can make a difference when it matters most.
