Culture of Continuous Learning

International financing organisation uses Cornerstone to train and develop its employees and external partners

LONDON — 14 September 2016 — Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ:CSOD) today announced that the Global Fund, an international financing institution that aims to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, has selected Cornerstone Learning and Cornerstone Extended Enterprise to better train and develop its employees and partners. The agreement, which was signed in early 2016, enables the Global Fund to foster the ongoing learning and development of its workforce, and deliver easy access to the latest online training and development tools for its thousands of external partners across the world.

Based in Geneva, the Global Fund employs a diverse group of 1,000 people from more than 100 countries and varying professional backgrounds, but that have one common goal: to raise funds and awareness for the eradication of AIDS, TB and malaria. Since its founding in 2002, the Global Fund has supported programs that have saved more than 20 million lives.

To continue this great work, the Global Fund sought a more comprehensive learning management system (LMS) for training and developing its people, and a more efficient system for enabling access to the latest learning and development content for its large network of partners.

Prior to Cornerstone, the Global Fund used varying manual and home-grown systems to manage the training and development needs of its workforce. The organisation needed a mobile-ready solution that would not only support the diverse needs of its employees and partners both in the office and on the ground, but that could also keep up with constantly changing information and protocols from global health organizations, government and other non-profit stakeholders.

With Cornerstone Learning and Cornerstone Extended Enterprise, the Global Fund aims to:

  • Provide its workforce and global partner network with instant access to training through Cornerstone’s cloud-based platform anytime, anywhere;

  • Stimulate self-development and increase the skill level of its workforce and partners;

  • Have a holistic view of the capabilities of its entire workforce and partners and assign necessary training courses to close skills gaps;

  • And ensure compliance, automate processes and improve organisational transparency to focus on more strategic initiatives.

Comments on the News

“We soon realised we could not achieve a high-level, targeted approach to learning and development without having the right platform that could scale up and down as needed. We felt Cornerstone was the most flexible solution and had the richest functionality,” said Andrew Tatam, IT business partner manager for the Global Fund. “We also wanted a technology partner that understood our business model, as well as one that would truly support the development of our people. In the short amount of time we’ve been working with Cornerstone, we’re already seeing positive results, and they have helped us change the way we operate to maximize our people and our partners.”

“The Global Fund has been doing inspirational work and has had great success in saving lives. The organisation is now looking to take a more strategic approach by giving its workforce and its partner a way to grow themselves as individuals, whilst complying with the constantly changing disease information, in order to support the development of the organisation. With this focus on learning and development, I have no doubt that The Global Fund will continue to go from strength to strength in executing its mission of eradicating AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria,” said Vincent Belliveau, executive vice president and general manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Cornerstone OnDemand.
