Cornerstone Editors

In 2022, we were intentional about setting ourselves and our customers up for greater success and an even deeper innovation roadmap. So, you can imagine our excitement when we say that 2023 is already gearing up to be a standout year.

In the first quarter of 2023, we spotlighted our customer successes, uncovered leading trends within our industry, honored our commitment to advancing women in the workplace, shared our leadership insights and strategies during important industry conversations and more.

With every achievement comes greater momentum to unlock limitless potential within ourselves, our business and all those around us.

Read on for the latest and greatest from our customers, our teams and our industry.

Committing ourselves to limitless customer success

At Cornerstone, our customers come first, and we know that addressing today’s challenges and opportunities isn’t always simple.

In Q1, we had the opportunity to share a lineup of incredible customer success stories with our industry, each with their own unique partnership with Cornerstone and journey to creating exceptional experiences for their people.

The Ohio State University tapped into Cornerstone Learning to build a learning culture for the future by implementing a centralized learning management system (LMS) to efficiently deliver training and track compliance among staff, faculty members and student employees.

Mosaic Life Care took a holistic approach to employee education, utilizing Cornerstone Learning, Cornerstone Performance and Cornerstone Recruiting to help further streamline their employee education and onboarding initiatives to continue offering top-of-the-line healthcare to all who need it.

Protolabs brought an innovative mindset to compliance and competency training, leaning on Cornerstone Learn to help create a streamlined learning process that balances efficiency and effectiveness when training new employees and powering other aspects of online learning.

Virginia Commonwealth University accessed Cornerstone Performance, Cornerstone Learning, Cornerstone Succession and Cornerstone Compensation to develop a new performance management process and an enhanced focus on career development.

But wait, there’s more.

BBVA turned to Cornerstone Learning, Cornerstone Performance and Cornerstone Content Anytime to help accelerate and modernize their workforce learning strategy by giving their employees the most accessible and personalized learning and development tools. We also teamed up with NSPCC to roll out a system whereby employees and volunteers had equal access to the relevant learning solutions and could self-direct their own learning journeys.

We continued the customer connection during three incredible Connect Live customer events in Frankfurt, Mumbai and Sydney. Together with our customers live and inperson, we experienced executive keynotes, customer presentations, insights from industry thought leaders, product deep dives, peer inspiration and more. Each event brought limitless opportunities to learn, network and reimagine our work environments to inspire growth, productivity and success.

We also welcomed new customers to the team, all of whom we are eager to partner with, grow with and help to create exceptional opportunities for their workforce. We’re giving a warm welcome to:

  • Koch Industries
  • The Lockwood Group
  • AssuredPartners, Inc.

And a big shoutout to our current customers with whom we expanded our existing relationships with in Q1:

  • Experian

  • Sierra Space
  • Tata Steel

Unveiling talent mobility trends and a pressing need for internal career growth opportunities

At the start of the year, we launched a global research study, “Ready, set, grow: The building blocks for high-impact talent mobility.”

Discussing the business imperatives of internal career mobility and growth opportunities today, the report focused on the role technology plays in enabling employee growth in today’s evolving talent landscape. And the results were clear: the days of lifetime commitments to a single employer are out, and the desire to pivot, grow and stretch within an organization is in.

The top three key findings from our research were:

  1. Employees crave a strong career mobility strategy. The study found that 73% of workers today want to know about career opportunities inside their organization.
  2. Career mobility creates a direct correlation to improved employee retention.
  3. Visibility into career growth opportunities is critical to employee satisfaction.

Check out the report here if you’d like to learn more.

Continuing our focus on internal talent mobility throughout Women’s History Month

At Cornerstone, we’re committed to providing limitless growth opportunities for our employees and creating an inclusive culture where every person feels valued for their contributions and realizes their full potential. In Q1, we had the opportunity to recognize the incredible women who inspire us and make Cornerstone such a great place to work during Women’s History Month and International Women's Day (IWD).

Our executives joined in on the conversation, too. Our Chief Digital and Information Officer Deepika Rayala sat down for a fireside chat hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) to discuss closing the gender gap for women and exploring ways to keep diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging top of mind when budgets are constrained, and companies are scaling back due to economic conditions.

Our Chief People Officer Carina Cortez was also intentional in using her platform to shine a light on Women’s History Month, joining the HR Works podcast to discuss how HR leaders can effectively empower women through internal career development.

Keeping a pulse on the latest trends and changes throughout our industry

As part of our continuous quest to uncover the latest people and workplace trends impacting our industry, in Q1, we also launched our “EMEA People & Workplace Trends Report for 2023.” The report surfaces the HCM, content and learning trends most likely to influence EMEA talent leaders over the next year.

Here are the top three trends uncovered in the report:

  1. Retention programs must match employee expectations. The next-generation workforce wants more from their employer, including empowered career development, real-time performance feedback and continuous lifelong learning.
  2. Sustainability learning content will soar in 2023. The findings showed an increased demand for sustainability learning content in 2022 versus 2021, with continued growth expected.
  3. There is a clear need to democratize learning, and organizations will continue to harness the power of learning experience platforms (LXPs) in order to do so.

You can check out the full report here to learn more about our findings.
